Nicola Wilson is a bronze medal-winning British eventing rider based in Northallerton, North Yorkshire, who started eventing professionally after graduating from university.
She has represented Great Britain at Olympic, European and World Championship level, including the 2014 World Equestrian Championships and the London 2012 Olympic Games.
Nicola won her first individual medal — bronze — at the 2017 European Championships in Strzegom in Poland with Bulana, where the British team won gold.
Nicola got her first taste of success in 1997 when she was selected to ride as an individual for the young rider European squad in Pratoni on Mr Bumble. The combination then came 10th at Burghley in 1998.
Nicola was first selected as a senior British team member at the 2009 European Championships in Fontainebleau where she came home with a team gold medal riding Opposition Buzz (aka Dodi). The talented gelding attracted a huge following thanks to his incredible scope and slightly unorthodox jumping style and partnered Nicola to win two gold medals and one bronze at senior championship level.
